Doug Bernier, founder of Pro Baseball Insider.com, debuted in the Major Leagues in 2008 with the Colorado Rockies, and has played professional baseball for 5 organizations (CO Rockies, NY Yankees, PIT Pirates, MN Twins, & TX Rangers) over the past 16 years. He has Major League time at every infield position, and has played every position on the field professionally except for catcher. (Click to watch this great defensive play by Bernier) Since retiring in 2017, Doug Bernier has worked for the Colorado Rockies organization in multiple roles, including Major League Professional Scout , Data & Game Planning Coordinator , Defensive Coordinator (2019–2021), and Field & Infield Coordinator (2022–present). He oversees player development throughout the Rockies’ Minor League system, focusing on infield defense, throwing mechanics, and game preparation. Off the field, he founded Pro Baseball Insider and created the Confident Infielder Program and Inner Circle, where he helps players and coaches learn pro-level fundamentals and build lasting confidence in their game.
